Robert Young is running for Winnebago County board district 17
HOMEGROWN COMMITMENT TO LOCAL INVESTMENT
Robert was born and raised in the Rockford area and learned early on the importance of a thriving community. He attended Southern Illinois University Edwardsville on a tennis scholarship and upon earning my degree, chose to come back to lay roots in Rockford. Under his leadership, Midwest Packaging has invested millions of dollars into new building expansions, machinery, technology, and equipment that has resulted in the creation of over 50 new jobs.
Robert feel strongly that business leaders have a great responsibility to be community leaders. I am an alumni of the 2015-2016 Rockford Chamber of Commerce Leadership Rockford Program. Since then, Robert has been actively involved in the community:

WHY AM I RUNNING for the WINNEBAGO COUNTY BOARD?
The decision to return to my community after college has been transformational. There was an allure to starting my career in an entirely new place, but coming back home was, without a doubt, the right decision. I remember interning at Midwest Packaging between semesters in college and coming to the realization of how much untapped potential the company, my community, and the entire region held; I’ve never looked back since.
I am running for the privilege of serving Winnebago County as the 17th District’s representative because I believe my skills and experience can bring much needed stability and vision to the County Board. The communities of Winnebago County are experiencing a period of incredible success, growth, and development. However, without strong and collaborative leadership new and ongoing opportunities may be at risk, and lingering issues will persist. The County Board is in a unique position to be a leader for community solutions for many issues facing the Rockford region. Now is the time for a fresh perspective and common sense leadership that is driven by a commitment to good governance. I aspire to be a part of this good work and continue the positive momentum for our community!
